We at TI Georgia are deeply saddened about the passing away of Amalia Kostanyan on September 30, 2010. After founding the Center for Regional Development in Yerevan, an NGO that became the accredited chapter of the Transparency International movement in Armenia [1] in 2001, Amalia became one of the most visible faces of the TI movement. Amalia was an energetic, courageous and passionate activist fighting against corruption, she was a role model and to many of us in Tbilisi, she also a close colleague and a good friend. Her sudden death is not only a big loss for us and our movement but also for Armenia. Our thoughts are with her loved ones, her friends, family and colleagues in Yerevan. We will miss her.
