On December 7, TI Georgia presented an overview of the Georgian advertising market at the Media Conference 2012 [1], organized by the Media Adovcacy Coalition of which TI Georgia is a member.
The presentation focused on the role of advertising and a functioning advertising market in providing a basis for financial sustainability of Georgian media outelts. Without financial sustainability, media outlets often end up depending on continuing subsidies from their owners or opaque financiers, resulting in a strong risk of editorial intereference, celf-censorship and political bias.
