Head of the Security Police Department Giorgi Bagrationi does not declare property, business and income
Giorgi Bagrationi, head of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not indicate his income, a company and real estate in his 2023 asset declaration.
As a public official, Giorgi Bagrationi is required to disclose all relevant information in his declaration.
Violation I: Giorgi Bagrationi owns 5 units of undeclared real estate:
- Apartment on Sakandelidze Street in Tbilisi - 284 sq.m.
- Three parking lots in Tbilisi, on Sakandelidze Street - 17.3 sq.m, 17.3 sq.m and 25.9 sq.m.
- A plot of land in Saguramo, with a private house under construction on it - 2700 sq.m.
Violation II: Giorgi Bagrationi also did not disclose his company. He owns a 40% share in a company called Abul Company Ltd. The right to manage the share, in accordance with the requirements of the law, has been transferred to a different person.
Violation III: In his last declaration, Giorgi Bagrationi did not indicate the income he received from his position during 2022. He did not declare his income for 2021 either. According to the latest information declared by him, his salary was 79,419.26 GEL in 2020.
The Public Service Bureau has already fined Giorgi Bagrationi once before for incompletely filling out his 2019 asset declaration, when he held the position of head of the Supervision Department of Tbilisi City Hall. The Civil Service Bureau report listed the following violations:
- Real estate is not declared fully.
- Companies belonging to him and his family members are not declared.
- Income received by him and his family members is not declared.
Transparency International Georgia calls on the Anti-Corruption Bureau to look into Giorgi Bagrationi’s asset declaration and respond to violations in accordance with the law.
